About Boiling Oar
Small batch, craft beer.
Boiling Oar Brewing Company launched as a small-batch, craft brewery in Calgary, Alberta. We launched in March 2016 with the intention of producing approachable and flavourful beer. We aim to craft brews that everyone can appreciate, not just the "craft beer drinker". We are a small, locally-owned company whose objective is to make the best beer possible while impacting our community in a positive way, day in and out.
Calgary is known to have some of highest quality water in the world, in addition to our media filtration, it is the ideal water chemistry for brewing. Since we are located in the heart of barley country, our beer is crafted with the highest quality malt and we even source some of our hops from Southeastern Alberta.
OUR TAPROOM IS OPEN!
In March 2024, 8 years after launching our brewery we opened our Taproom to the public! We how have the opportunity to welcome people from all over to our facility to try all that we have to offer. Come on by the taproom to say hi and give our approachable and flavorful beers a whirl.

OUR BEER
KOLSCH
Don't let this cold=fermented ale fool you into thinking it is a lager, because it’s not! We've borrowed a beer style specific to Köln, Germany and created something dangerously serene. This crisp, clean ale sits in at 5% and has been delicately hopped with "Nearly Noble" German hops to 20 IBU's. Light in colour and picking up subtle notes of spice and apple. Our easy drinker pairs well with a patio and some vitamin D.

HOPPY WHEAT
WARNING! Our delicious Hoppy Wheat Ale is going to knock your socks off! This beauty sits at 4.4% ABV and is heavy dry hopped with Idaho 7 hops to give a big hit of tropical/citrus fruit notes. This well balanced beer has great mouthfeel and 22 IBU’s.

CITRA BLONDE
Our Citra Blonde has a subdued citrus profile. It is a ‘classic style meets modern hop variety’ beer and your new go-to for the warmer months ahead! It comes to the table at 4.3% ABV and 20 IBU.

OATMEAL STOUT
Our Oatmeal Stout is dark brown in color, rich and smooth bodied with slight chocolate and espresso notes. it is a creamy brew with a slightly sweet finish balanced with acidic roastiness. 5.2% ABV.

DO YOU ACCEPT CASH?
There is no cash on the premises. Debit or Credit payments are recommended.
DO YOU ONLY SERVE BEER?
We also have pop, water and sparkling water available for purchase in the taproom.
DO YOU SERVE FOOD?
We have a variety of snacks available for purchase. We will also be working with local food businesses and restaurants for additional options. There are also many neighborhood restaurants to order from via Skip the Dishes, Uber Eats or DoorDash.
ARE CHILDREN ALLOWED?
Minors are not currently allowed in the taproom.
ARE DOGS ALLOWED?
Sorry friends - as much as we love all your adorable furry friends, pets of any kind are not allowed in the taproom. Honestly, we are as bummed about it as you are.
DO YOU HOST PRIVATE EVENTS?
Not currently but we will be able to in the future.

Not yet but Summer is fast approaching and we know how much Calgarian’s love patio season!

Sorrry friends, no growler fills but you can snag a 4-pack from the taproom to take home!
